Zimbabwe Warriors thumped their eastern neighbours Mozambique with an impressive 4-0 win to take command of Group B in he earnest.
The match which was played at Moruleng Stadium saw former Kaizer Chiefs winger Ovidy Karuru open the scoring on the 43rd minute, before nodding a header to double the lead midway through the second half.
A well-taken Ocean Mushure free-kick gave the Warriors their third, before second-half substitute Blessing Majarira added gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time to complete the 4-0 drubbing.
Later in the day, Madagascar overwhelmed lowly Seychelles 2-0. Ardino Raveloarisona and Rinjala Raherinaivo scored for the Barea.
Zimbabwe and Madagascar now top group B on three points each with two group stage fixtures to go.
