Maggy and Tsitsi Huma, a Zimbabwean couple based in South Africa has died from CIVID-19 leaving behind their children. The husband and wife died less than a week apart.
First was the Maggy who worked as a nurse at George Mukhari Academic Hospital.
Maggy was described as someone who loved her job, on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19.
She lost that battle two weeks ago.
Just five days later, her husband Tsitsi too, succumbed to the virus.
Both had to be buried immediately.
The couple has left behind three children – a 28-year-old, a 15-year-old and a 10-year-old.
“He died without knowing my mom died, we didn’t tell him that mom passed away,” their 15-year-old daughter said speaking to eNCA.
The two youngest will now be without a school because they’re being forced to relocate back to Zimbabwe.
Two of the children have tested negative for COVID-19 while the other await results.
